Don't get too elated about the new law signed by Jan Brewer.

Here's the problem.

It is absolutely, positively legal for State police to apprehend illegal aliens in states where the State Government approves of it.

You and I both know that time after time State police have stopped illegal aliens and called ICE. ICE told them to turn the illegals loose. They just wouldn't take them.

When a Sheriff takes the illegals into jail, he has to house and feed them. But he can't deport them. He has to call ICE and get an immigration hold. The illegal is issued a deportation notice and turned loose. It is called a "run" letter because the illegal runs 90% of the time.

Sheriff Arpaio himself had a problem with ICE refusing to take the prisoners so he threatened to bus them to the border.

This new law is more of a psychological thing than an actual solution. But it may scare off some of the violators at least.

As regards Obama's criticism of the new law, I'm done bashing Obama. He's just too absurd to even waste my time on.
