Arizona CBP Officers Seize Nearly $296,000 in Pot
Douglas, Ariz. - Two male Mexican nationals were arrested in separate incidents recently for attempting to smuggle a combined 591 pounds of marijuana, worth in excess of $295,000, through the Port of Douglas. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on Sunday selected for inspection a SUV driven by a 22-year-old man from Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico and officers found 113 packages of marijuana, weighing more than 215 pounds, stashed throughout the vehicle.
