This is what they have to say:

Campaign statement

The California Tus Valores campaign is an effort of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, an initiative of the American Principles in Action, an organization dedicated to preserving and propagating the fundamental conservative principles upon which our country was founded.

The Partnership's dual mission is to garner greater Latino support for conservative causes and candidates and, at the same time, to encourage the conservative movement to support Latino conservative groups, leaders, candidates and policies that are welcoming of Latino immigrants. In this manner, it serves as an effective liaison between established conservative groups and the growing Hispanic community.

The Latino Partnership works within the Latino community to support candidates who are committed to fundamental conservative values and ideals and who also favor policies that are welcoming to immigrants.

The Tus Valores Campaign is an independent expenditure of American Principles in Action, a 501(c)(4) organization.

Their candidate

Why Carly Fiorina

Carly Fiorina believes in the right to life, from the moment of conception until natural death, and opposes same-sex marriage.

Barbara Boxer is an outspoken advocate of both abortion and gay marriage.

Latinos want to see Congress fix our dysfunctional immigration system. We are tired of promises. The Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles has proposed a common-sense, five-point plan to reform our immigration laws.

[See post 4 for a description of the 5 point immigration plan]

Barbara Boxer says she is for immigration reform, but in all her years in office she hasn’t done anything to make it happen.

In fact, she has failed to involve herself in Congressional debates on immigration and in 2007 she even voted to defeat the comprehensive reform bill that the Senate was considering! In the meantime, she has spent a great deal of time and energy on climate change legislation that will only hurt California's economy and eliminate more jobs we can't afford to lose.

Barbara Boxer has avoided - and will continue to avoid - the immigration issue in Washington. And when pressed, she will vote against common sense immigration reform.

Carly Fiorina showed her resolve in support of common-sense immigration policies during the Republican Primary and represents a real opportunity to pass a reform bill.

Latino unemployment levels are higher than the national average. Latinos want to see policies that promote job creation.

Barbara Boxer strongly supports and votes for big government. She voted for the almost 1 trillion dollar so-called “stimulus” plan that has prevented a robust economic rebound and created serious obstacles to job creation by crowding out private sector investment.

Carly Fiorina was a successful businesswoman and CEO and understands what it takes to spur economic growth and create real jobs. She will use her free market expertise and know-how in Washington to advocate for policies that lead to the creation of quality, good-paying jobs for all Americans.

Latinos are pro-business and are very entrepreneurial. Latinos constitute the largest ethnic business community. During the past decade, Hispanic Americans have been opening their own businesses at a rate of three times the national average.

Carly Fiorina believes that the way to grow the economy is not through excessive government involvement like Barbara Boxer does, but by supporting and empowering small and family-owned businesses. Carly Fiorina will be a strong voice of support for Latino entrepreneurs and businesses.

Latinos want to see the Delta water pumps turned back on.

Due to the water shortage, tens of thousands of Latinos have lost their farming jobs in the Central Valley. Moreover, many Latino-owned farms and agriculture related businesses have been negatively affected or forced to close.

As she does on immigration, Barbara Boxer says what those impacted by the water shortage want to hear ... but hasn’t done anything to solve the problem. As Chair of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, she is in a unique position to take action to turn the pumps back on.

Instead, she has chosen to defend the lives of small fish rather than protect the livelihoods of thousands of hard-working Californians.

As Senator, Carly Fiorina would take decisive action to ensure that the water and jobs start flowing again.

Immigration

“Our borders aren’t secure, and we don’t have a temporary worker program that works. … Let’s solve real problems by doing things we know how to get done and that we can get done.” - Carly Fiorina

Immigration made our nation great. The United States is blessed with a diverse population with diverse backgrounds and diverse beliefs. However, illegal immigration has eroded Americans’ trust in government, threatened our national security and hurt our fellow Californians.

Carly believes that the solution to our nation’s illegal immigration problem must begin with securing our borders. Without secure borders, we cannot begin to have a rational discussion about immigration policy. Technology holds great potential to help in our nation’s security efforts, and Carly believes we should use every tool at our disposal to ensure our borders are secure.

At the same time, Carly is also committed to developing an effective visa program and temporary worker program to support legal immigrants who fulfill important roles in our nation’s economy. An effective temporary worker program for seasonal agricultural employees and visa programs for workers in other high-skill, high-demand industries can help us fill what are often dire employment needs.

Latin Influence

At over 46 million people, Hispanics are the largest and fasting growing ethnic group in the United States. We make up 15% of the U.S population.

By 2050, the Hispanic population will account for 29% of all those living in the U.S. Our combined national buying power accounted for $951 billion (8.9% of total US buying power in 2008), and comprises $228 billion in California alone.

Today, nationally, there are 18.5 million Latinos that are eligible to vote. This accounts for 9% of all eligible voters in the U.S. Never before have we had such an opportunity to shape the country we love.

Hispanics make up 34% of the electorate in both California and Texas, and these percentages in key swing states:

* Florida- 21%
* Colorado- 20%
* New Mexico- 44.8%
* Arizona- 30.3%
* Nevada- 25%
* Hispanics make up 15% or more of the populations of Illinois, New York and New Jersey as well.

Latinos are pro-traditional family. 56% of Latinos oppose redefining marriage, compared to 42% of all non-Hispanic people. In 2008, for example, Latino voters helped provide the crucial margin of victory for Proposition 8 in California, which restored the traditional definition of marriage. Latinos supported the initiative by 53% (compared to 49% support among non-Latino whites).

Latinos also strongly believe in the dignity of the human person. 57% believe abortion should be illegal, compared to 40% of all non-Hispanic people.

Conservative Hispanics to Launch $1 Million 'Tus Valores' Campaign in Support of Carly Fiorina http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...-99276964.html

Funders of new pro-Fiorina group are hard to trace

July 27, 2010

Anthony York

Today in Los Angeles, a group called The Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles announced what they say will be a $1-million campaign for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina.

But finding out where the money comes from -- if and when it actually does come -- is virtually impossible. By passing major political donations through nonprofit groups, conservative and liberal groups alike skirt the spirit of campaign finance disclosure laws and make tracing the true source of political money increasingly difficult.

A new Supreme Court ruling has made it easier for independent groups to participate in federal elections, as long as they don't coordinate with the candidates themselves. The Latino Partnership is just the latest of these groups to materialize. It is a newly created offshoot of American Principles in Action, a 501(c)(4) organization that serves as the nonprofit political arm of a group called the American Principles Project. The sources of the organization's money are not disclosed to the public. The American Principles Project's website says it is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting conservative candidates and values.

[Updated 6:33 p.m.] None of the three organizations has filed financial records with the Internal Revenue Service -- nor are they required to. Because of the ways the laws are written, the amount of money spent by the group will not likely be known until after the election, and the sources of the funding are never required to be disclosed publicly.

The Latino Partnership's board of directors includes anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist and telenovela star Karyme Lozano.

Lozano has been active in the fight against abortion. But she also has some fans in the gay community. Lozano was named queen of the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade in 2008.

The group on whose board she serves -- like Carly Fiorina -- is opposed to same-sex marriage.

Alfonso Aguiar, executive director of the Latino Partnership, said they are hoping to spend up to $1 million on Spanish and English-language radio and Internet ads urging California Latinos to "vote their values."

"In this race for the Senate, we have a candidate who shares our values in Carly Fiorina," Aguiar said. "She is pro-life. She believes in traditional marriage. Basic values of the Latino community.

"The strategic mistake Democrats are making is to assume that Latinos are so gullible that every Republican candidate is anti-Hispanic," Aguiar said.

The group, which does not have a long history in politics, has some familiar players behind the scenes. Among them is conservative Princeton professor Robert George. Aguiar said the group's money comes from "conservative donors and large individual donations," but he did not provide any names of donors to either the Latino Partnership or American Principles in Action.

The Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles has proposed a common-sense, five-point plan to reform our immigration laws.

Position on Immigration

APP’s Latino Partnership supports comprehensive immigration reform that focuses on the following five points:

1. Strengthen Border Security. We must continue to strengthen border security to combat drug trafficking and discourage immigrants from risking their lives to cross illegally into the country.

2. Prioritize Internal Enforcement. Federal immigration enforcement resources and actions should focus on immigrants involved in criminal activity rather than workplace raids and “audits” that harm both workers and employers.

3. Legalize the Undocumented. The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are good, hard working people who are doing jobs Americans do not want or for which there are simply no Americans of working age available. We should establish a path for undocumented immigrants to earn legal status after paying a penalty for having entered the country illegally.

4. Create a Guest Worker Program. Immigrants are not competing with Americans for jobs. They are doing jobs that are vital to our economy, but that Americans, for various reasons, are not doing. The economic growth and stability of the nation depends on the capacity of American business and industry to recruit foreign workers as needed. Current work visa quotas are too limited and have been set arbitrarily by Congress. We must create a Guest Worker Program that allows for the entry of foreign workers as the needs of our economy dictate.

5. Promote Patriotic Assimilation. Immigrants who remain in the U.S. as permanent residents as well as those who become citizens should learn English, learn and identify with the principles upon which our country was founded, and study the basics of U.S history. New Americans’ attachment to the nation and our institutions is essential for the preservation of the social cohesion of our political community.
