Yes.
Did you notice that throwing rocks and bottles was considered "free speech"? Somehow I suspect that if it were the nazis doing the throwing, that speech wouldn't be so free.

I don't trust the whole thing.

I think it might be best if we monitored the public perception of this. I'm hoping that the majority doesn't take sides with either one, as that would be the SOS position. Not that we don't support free speech, but that both sides are practicing something we cannot support. I think whatever happens here, the cops at least put their best foot forward, whereas they did not during the Hayes march at leimart park

There were a number of issues that were wrong with Leimert Park.

I don't trust the Nazis, the counter protesters or the police as a general rule and I sympathize with your mistrust of the whole situation.

But free speech is the basis of the gathering and the lack of restraint from the participants is the rational reason for the presence of the police. Is it worth it for the principles of free speech? Yes, a small price to pay even if conspiracy motivated the event.

The best protection for our constitutionally mandated freedoms is to use them on a regular basis, especially when others conspire against them by abusing them.

Activists want the nazi's permit revoked.

http://www.kfi640.com/cc-common/main...rticle=7006230

Some community activists and civil rights groups want L.A.'s mayor to revoke a permit allowing white supremacists to rally at city hall.

Community activists and civil rights groups have urged Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa to revoke a permit allowing a white supremacist group to hold a weekend demonstration at City Hall.

A police sergeant says none of the city agencies that reviewed the permit request objected, probably because doing so would have violated the group's right to freedom of assembly.

The activists say the mayor should revoke the National Socialist Movement's permit because it's a hate group that tries to incite violence, and freedom of speech should not apply.

Sorry. No cigar here.

I have listened FOR YEARS to mecha, their brown berets and la raza separatist groups and their demands not only be separatist but have the rest of us support them cradle to grave while they party hearty. Unless they want to stop their own spew, they have no credible argument here.

Just as an honorable mention, there WAS NO VIOLENCE until the "activists" started throwing rocks and bottles.
