An invitation to train enthusiasts

The San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands is looking for railroad enthusiasts willing to share their train artifacts, model train layouts and photos at the museum's annual Train Days on Jan. 16 and 17.

Train Days is one of the museum's biggest events of the year. More than 800 children attended last year with parents, grandparents and friends. Participants watched model trains run on large and small layouts, played train games, talked to real engineers, and inspected real train tools and other "railroadiana."

Railroaders interested in participating, please contact Train Days organizer Nancy Kirkwood at 909-307-2669, Ext. 271 or e-mail nkirkwood@sbcm.sbcounty.gov.

I haven't had a train set since I was like 8, but I do remember having my dad's when he was a kid. it had those little pellets you put in the smokestack to create the smoke.
