We are a non profit 501C3 and are barred from supporting any political campaign, party or person for political office.

Jean, I wasn't calling for an endorsement from the organization. I was merely promoting my own position and encouraging others to follow my lead. Is that not permitted? There's no need to be nasty.

Phil did that come across as being nasty? I thought I was being assertive. What we don't want is this board to become a political battle field of endorsements. That is what happened at the old SOS and we all know how that landed up. But first and foremost we are a nonprofit 501C3. We can not endorse any candidate. We can discuss their issues and such, but not endorse them. When I say we I'm speaking of management. We haven't had elections and placed anyone in position yet. I'm just trying to get that across before the discussions become battles, as you've seen happen before. Politics took over practically the whole board and discussion. You just happen to be one of the first to come forward.

I understand that. I'm just trying to get people to pay attention to Campbell because at this point his candidacy is not all that well-known and I'm trying to spread the word about him. Wouldn't you do the same thing if you knew of a really good anti-illegal immigration candidate who had a chance of becoming the next governor, especially given the other choices we have?

The best thing about Tom Campbell is that he's the most solid on the immigration issue of any of the gubernatorial candidates who have a chance of winning. The worst thing about Tom Campbell is that his website makes very clear that he considers legal residency appopriate for illegal aliens who were brought here as minors.

Are we allowed to post a comparison of gubernatorial candidates showing how they stand on the issues, what their background and experience is and such as long as there is not an attempt to show a bias towards any one of them?

Moving this thread to politics, as it is not an "associates in action" related.

You may compare candidates and offer opinions, but not use this forum to encourage others to vote for any certain candidate here.

I'll try to ask him about that tonight. He may have an alternate plan for those in that category other than automatic citizenship or a position which would be contingent on the age at which they were brought over.
