Default Reaping what is sown

This looks like the chickens are coming home to roost.

40 years of educators tearing down and teaching disrespect for America while forgetting that they themselves are indeed part of the "establishment".

Protesters attack UC Berkeley chancellor's home; 8 arrested

December 12, 2009

Eight people were under arrest today after several dozen protesters shouting “no justice, no peace” attacked Chancellor Robert Birgeneau’s home on the campus of UC Berkeley, smashing windows, lights and planters as well as throwing torches at the home and police vehicles, authorities said.

The attack shortly after 11 p.m. Friday followed a four-day occupation of Wheeler Hall and the arrest of 66 people who were protesting state funding cutbacks and a steep increase in student fees throughout the UC system. They were later released.

No injuries or fires were reported in Friday night’s attack. Those arrested were charged with rioting, threatening an education official, attempted burglary, attempted arson, felony vandalism and assault. They were being held today in the Alameda County jail on $132,000 bond each.

“These are criminals, not activists,” Birgeneau said in a statement released by the university. “The attack at our home was extraordinarily frightening and violent. My wife and I genuinely feared for our lives.... I urge the community and protesters to find more productive ways to express their points of view. To resort to life-endangering violence is never acceptable.”

Birgeneau was home asleep at the time. His wife heard the commotion outside and called police, who responded within minutes, said university spokesman Dan Mogulof.

Between 50 and 70 protesters scattered, he said, and police were able to capture eight. Only two were UC Berkeley students, he said. One person was among those arrested earlier in the Wheeler Hall occupation. The escalation in violence, Mogulof said, shocked university officials.

“This is a quantum leap beyond what had been happening here,” he said. “They didn’t just cross a red line – they leapt over it.”

Because of the home’s shatter-resistant windows and masonry construction, “it is really a matter of luck that the damage was moderate,” Birgeneau said.

“The attack on Chancellor Birgeneau’s residence late last night was appalling,” University of California President Mark G. Yudof said in a statement. “The behavior as described went far beyond the boundaries of public dissent, and such lawlessness cannot be tolerated.”

So they cannot afford the cost of college now, if there is no money I wonder how they think the colleges can stay open. The answer is they don't care, just give me what I want or you will be sorry.
I know of 2 people who had their Property tax amended. One person called the Property Tax board and it was legit, it was on a regular tax bill form. The other has not been confirmed, it was on a School type form. The tax office did not have any information on that so called bill. The amemded amount was to be paid to the school board.
I wonder where these people think home owners get their money.

There are already people who can't afford college, unlike these little effetist rebels. Why aren't they rioting? Where is their political front? I guess you have to afford to go to college before you can protest about not being able to afford to go to college.

A more likely irritant that is sparking these displays is not having to spend more money, it's not getting any of the increase in money that comes from raising tuition.

Are these students really rioting because they are going to have to quit college because they can no longer afford the tuition? I find that hard to believe.

Did you see it, notice it. Only two were students. Who were the rest?
