Default Is Obama The Democrat's George Bush?

Remember the previous election cycle where many people were postulating theries that Bush was destroying the Republican party, and doing it intentionally to divide and /or marginalize the conservative base? John McCain conceded before the votes were all tallied; The election was rigged; the new president was chosen (crowned); etc.
I do not see a whole lot of difference between that time, and the massachusetts miracle that played itself out this week. The press announced the winner before the votes are all counted, and the hapless democrat who was attached to Obama's hip sheepishly told everyone she was the loser. So proceeding on this as a possible scenario, what is the outcome?
1( The Dems get divided, and the repubs still don't get enough steam to dominate, so the global powers move in to fill the void

2) the repubs profit from the swinging pendulum, and we get x amount of years of the same old BS from both parties as we've always had

3) Insert your theory here

The perpetual contest between the Democrats and the Republicans is fake. It is what is called the "two party system". Line up with one or the other and you no longer have any representation for the interests of this country or any country.

As long as any part of the US government is continued to be allowed to ask anyone what their political party is, we are going to keep having this fake contest clouding the issues that are important to the United States and its citizens.

The Boston Globe announced the winner an hour after the polls opened. In a "Dewey" moment, they announced Marcia Coakley as the winner. They took down the announcement within minutes.

Anyone can vote against the two parties by voting for an independent. What independents want is for some other force to come in and put an end to the two party system. It's not going to happen as long as people are permitted to vote and make their choices on who to vote for from the two largest parties. One of those parties is going to control the nation. Of the two, the democrats are the most destructive. It is the most destructive because the liberal left has been incrementally guiding the democrats into communisim. They were quite smart about it. Republicans on the other hand rode off in all directions complaining that the conservatives were becoming so unconservative that they were just liberal lite without much difference between republicans and democrats.

Now how does this happen?

It happens because liberals have been agressive in guiding both democrats and republicans incrementally left (more successful with democrats) and conservatives wring their hands that the parties are becoming too much alike and there aren't candidates conservative enough! Instead of seizing control and making the party they want, they vote for independents without a prayer of winning or sit home pouting. They imagine they are standing on principle when they are just laying down for the steamroller.

If someone truly objects to the two party system, vote third party. Donate to third party causes. Campaign for your chosen candidate. Democrats will continue onward with the nanny state much like Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezuela.

The voters in Massachusettes have apparently had an epiphany and see where their road is leading. While there are more registered democrats in the state than republicans, there are more independents than BOTH. That shouldn't be forgotten.

I agree with Ayatolloah's analysis about the "swinging pendulum."

I think the Scott Brown victory is important because it shows millions of Democrat voters are no longer rigidly conformist and blindly loyal to their party. People are wising up at a very basic visceral level and I think something of a political re-alignment is occurring. Similarly, there are many Republicans who are looking more skeptically at the GOP leadership.

The only way to confront the "two party system" is to confront the perversion of our voter registration process where you are asked to tell what your political party is when you register. It is none of any part of the US government's business what your political party is and it is unconstitutional for the government to ask or keep records on what that is.
