Default Mexico Seeks To Claim Some Of California's Cap and Trade Credits

The Consulate General of Mexico is pleased to announce the third edition of "Mexico
Advocacy Day" on Wednesday May 2nd, 2012.

On this occasion, there will be a review of Mexico's efforts to reduce emissions
of greenhouse gases and an evaluation of the necessary public rules to ensure the
participation of Mexican companies in the carbon credit market in California
.

In this context, the California Senate Select Committee on California-Mexico Cooperation,
chaired by Senator Lou Correa, will hold an Informational Hearing on the California-Mexico
Cap & Trade Program.
The Hearing will be held on May 2, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m., at the State Capitol, Room 3191.

In this Informational Hearing Dr. Luis R. Farías, Chairman of the Business which
is part of the Mexican Business Coordinating Council (the top national enterprise
council in Mexico), will talk about the opportunity of utilizing high-quality offsets
originating in Mexico. Other witnesses are representatives from the California Air
Resources Board, the Climate Action Reserve, the Renewable Energy Accountability
Project, CO2 Solutions and the California Manufacturers & Technology Association.

On the other hand, on Sunday April 29th, Consul General Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez
published in the Sacramento Bee an editorial regarding the California Mexico Advocacy
Day.

Challenges and Progress of Implementing the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants
