Default Mother of slain dispatcher to speak at vigil

This story goes way deeper than the quotes below, and Robin Hvidson weighs in. Whole story http://blog.pe.com/crime-blotter/201...peak-at-vigil/

Quote:
Sabine Durden said she can accept an accident.

But Durden said that the July 2012 traffic collision caused by undocumented immigrant Juan Zacarias Tzun that killed her son, Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatcher Dominic Durden, was no accident.

“When someone is in the country illegally and commits crime after crime after crime, it’s not an accident,” Durden said Friday, Nov. 1.

That’s the message Durden said she plans to deliver Sunday when she and others whose loved ones have been killed by undocumented immigrants speak at a day of remembrance in Los Angeles. The event, sponsored by We The People Rising, will include a candlelight vigil...

...Durden, by the way, doesn’t like the term illegal immigrant.

“Either you are illegal, or you are an immigrant. You can’t be both,” she said.

Durden herself is an immigrant, from Germany, and is now a U.S. citizen.

“I did it the right way,” she said...

...Sunday’s vigil will be at the site where high school student Jamiel Shaw Jr. was shot to death in 2008. It begins at 3:30 p.m. The address is 2136 Fifth St., Los Angeles.
