What should be glaringly apparent is the absolute disdain and disregard that the agriculture industry has for US immigration law. If they existed, the growers would import vampires to work the fields, and let them suck the blood from the local townsfolk for sustennance. They are without conscience or constraint apparently. These corrupt bastards need to be driven from our state or we will most certainly be kneeling before them someday too

It has been glaringly apparent to me concerning the construction industry since 1981. Check out the services industries, such as restaurants and fast food, hotels, and others.

Illegals don't come here and physically remove American employees from their jobs; American employers displace American workers with illegals, primarily because an illegal will work for nothing and forty years later come to the realization he's been ripped off.

And your Congressman, Republican or Democrat, stands behind the employer in this regard.

However, I commented in this thread because of the misconception believed by many of this:

Quote:
Longer term Latino immigrants taking issue with newly arrived migrant farm workers and their betheren in a California town.
Rachel Ortiz and the members of Beautify Greenfield are not immigrants of any sort. They might have even less in common with illegals than many on this board, except for last names and skin tone.

That's where I believe the anti illegal movement loses it. There are people who exalt Lupe Moreno and Ray Herrera on the keyboard, but if the pair were seen in line at Lowes they would be confused with illegals.

I believe that has to change, otherwise the anti illegal movement will continue to spin it's wheels in relative irrelevancy.

Nothing will change until we recognize that we have to charge elected officials with the crimes that they commit against the people of the USA by facilitating the illegal entry and subsequent existence of foreigners on our soil.

We must keep tabs on illegals but more than that this movement must produce charges against all politicians who are part of the scam. get a few in court and the rest will fall in line with enforcing the law.

2009-10 Current Expense per Average Daily Attendance (ADA)
As of February 23, 2011

Fillmore Unified Expenditures $28,694,529
Current Expense per average daily attendance $3,629.2
Current Expense per average daily attendance $7,907
http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/fd/ec/currentexpense.asp

Fillmore Unified has about 3,800 students and according to Dr. Alan Nishino the Interim Fillmore Superintendent of Schools (stated at the FUSD meeting Aug 16,2011), over 500 (about 13%) of the students are from migrant farm workers families. Which means it costs the taxpayer about $2,724,284 of the $28,694,259 FUSD yearly budget. That’s your tax money used to educate the migrant workers’ children here in Fillmore, a town with a population of 15,000 people. They don’t advertise the statistics. This is the secret the growers and the politicians who benefit from the growers donations don’t want the public to know about, the actual cost of their cheep labor to the public. How may heads of lettuce could you buy with that money? And this is just one small town, multiply this by the thousands of towns throughout the country.

More California stats:
The Budget proposes to increase $36.7 million Federal Trust Fund in 2011-12 to reflect growth of nutrition programs at schools and other participating agencies.
The Budget proposes to increase $12.0 million Federal Trust Fund in 2011-12 for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, which provides additional free fresh fruit or vegetable snacks to students during the school day.
Add Federal Migrant Education Program & English Language Acquisition Program Carryover Funds 7,870,000

Align Migrant Education Program Appropriation with Available Federal Funds

The English Language Acquisition Program was consolidated into the Economic Impact Aid Program commencing the 2010-11 fiscal year. $888,447,000.
