Default Latino's Sue For Bigger Share Of Community Services In Modesto

Racial politics are as divisive and foolish as anything I know, but racial apportionment is even worse. I don't understand the logic here. There is a group of racially bent people claiming discrimination, and their solution for it is to beg for more.

Quote:
MODESTO, Calif. -- A panel of appeals court judges gave Latinos in Modesto a chance to continue with a discrimination suit they brought against the city and Stanislaus County.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeal declined to throw out the lawsuit this week. In it, Hispanic residents say law enforcement takes longer to respond to their calls, that their neighborhoods lack adequate sewers and sidewalks, and other charges.

In 2007 a Fresno judge dismissed their claims, saying he saw no evidence of discrimination.

In October, the 9th circuit judges dismissed the charge that would have forced the county to install new sidewalks, drains and sewer lines. That decision stands. Now the other charges will get a new hearing.

The areas in question are unincorporated county land.

"The areas in question are unincorporated county land".

Modesto does'nt have a say in the matter, it's pretty much up to the County anyways.
Sidewalks?...they should be lucky They have paved roads, and not dirt roads, inadequate sewers?...jeez, most folks have septic systems in the unincorporated areas anyways, but if They were to have less children, or Tenants, perhaps that might help abit as well.

I loathe driving through that area. Lodi/Stockton/Modesto, but I have to a few times a year to get back to the North Bay...thank God for body armor.
