Default Census Saturday

I got word that today was a big event at the state capitol to publicize the census, so I took a tour and a few pics for the folks back home. Not so many people really, but you'd never know it from the money you spent on it. Mostly it was an asian affair I'd say. More pacific islander than anything for some reason. I'd guess the asians were first in line with their hands out from the federal stimulus cookie jar. They had some Fiji islanders dancing, and some filipina's too. Mostly it was a lot of hoopla over nothing, with the exception of spend, spend, spend. The reason I keep bringing up the money is that everywhere was some free gifts. Free cloth hand carry bags, free t-shirts..nice ones actually, free sports drink bottles, free pens and pencils, free coffee mugs, free bottled water, free cartons of orange juice, free apples, free popcorn, free packaged snacks, free this, and that like key fobs,....the list goes on. I got a few things, but kinda felt bad about taking a little of everything like I saw so many others doing. This government just can't find enough stuff to spend our money on quickly enough

I don't know if you noticed or not, but some of these folks got so many free different t-shirts that they actually had to wear one and carry the others

All that crap was not free. American tax payers foot the bill. I go to those events with my 3 grand kids and their cousin and we take everything. What we don't eat or can't use, we trash.

There is no such thing as Free, not even a free lunch. Someone has to pay!
