Default Illegal aliens sucking taxpayers dry

Illegal aliens sucking taxpayers dry
After reading Joan Butler's letter in Hernando Today on Oct. 19, I must correct her statement about Gov. Rick Perry allowing illegal aliens to apply and work for citizenship while attending state colleges at full tuition costs.
The fact is that they will not become U. S. citizens just because they graduate from college.
Secondly, Gov. Perry signed into law a bill in 2001 that allows illegal aliens to receive in-state tuition. At the University of Texas in Austin, the in-state tuition rate is approximately $5,000 per semester while the out-of-state tuition rate is approximately $16,000 per semester. According to the Dallas News, the state of Texas gave $33.6 million in state financial aid to these illegal alien students.
If my child from Florida wanted to attend U of T, I would be paying out-of-state tuition, so why should an illegal alien receive in-state tuition and financial aid on the backs of the taxpayers? Even with a college degree, these students cannot be hired because they are illegal aliens. Gov. Perry wants them to receive work permits, which means they will be taking a job away from a U.S. citizen.
According to Rep. Michele Bachmann, illegal aliens cost the United States $113 billion per year. The Heritage Foundation reported the average low-skilled immigrant household costs American taxpayers nearly $20,000 per year. The Center for Immigration Studies reported 57 percent of immigrant households (both legal and illegal) with children use at least one welfare program. The Government Accountability Office reported 25 percent of inmates in federal prisons are in the country illegally.
Of the 11.2 million illegals living in the United States, 8 million are holding jobs that belong to U. S. citizens. No wonder we have millions of Americans out of work!
Gov. Perry needs to take a long, hard look at his state. One in five Texans lives below the poverty level. More than 70 percent of illegal aliens in Texas are on welfare. Where are those illegal aliens that will do the work Americans refuse to do?
Of the thousands of jobs created in Texas, 40 percent went to illegal aliens. Where is E-verify in Texas to check the immigration status of workers? Gov. Perry could have issued an executive order to mandate E-verify for all state employees and state contractors just like Gov. Rick Scott did in Florida, but he chose not to protect the jobs for Americans.
Do you want a president who opposes the border fence? Do you want a president who supports giving financial aid to college students who are illegal aliens? Do you want a president who would give an illegal alien in-state tuition, but not your child from another state?
Gov. Perry needs to take a look at some of the opinion polls on illegal immigration, and he will find that 70 percent of Americans are against amnesty and paying benefits to illegal aliens. The American taxpayers are being robbed by this illegal invasion.
