French President Nicolas Sarkozy Blasts Multiculturalism
A third European leader is lashing out at multiculturalism. French President Nicolas Sarkozy has followed the lead of British Prime Minister David Cameron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Sarkozy says -- quote -- "It's a failure. The truth is that in all our democracies, we've been too concerned about the identity of the new arrivals and not enough about the identity of the country receiving them."
Merkel contends multiculturalism has totally failed in Germany. Cameron says it has left young British Muslims vulnerable to radicalism.

Speaking of radicalism, Berkeley, California officials may invite some Guantanamo Bay detainees to resettle there.
The city's Peace and Justice Commission is asking for one or two detainees whom they say have been cleared of wrongdoing to be moved to Berkeley once U.S. transfers are allowed.
A commissioner told the San Francisco Chronicle they wanted to invite -- quote -- "the kind of people you'd like to have living next door to you or dating your cousin."
