Default Part Time Legislature Initiative

John and Ken did a big broadcast promoting the proposed ballot initiative to give California a part time legislature, on the theory that if they're in session half the time they will do half the harm to the State.

GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Poisner endorsed the idea and was considering kicking in big bucks to support it. John and Ken are a powerful voice and this idea sounds good on the face of it.

Does anybody else have any ideas about the initiative or about Poisner?

there could be one big downside to a part time legislature. In the absence of elected people doing the work, the void will likely be filled by appointees and employees of the current administration. Also, the Governor, Lt. Gov become more powerful. While employees don't write laws, they will be unwatched as they proceed under current ones, as well as being ordered to proceed under the executive branch. Appointees already have some power to interpret existing laws or make policy. And lastly, with no legislature to act, the judicial branch steps in to the void a WHOLE LOT MORE OFTEN
