Default I don't know where to start on this stinker

It appears central America is now demanding we take any and all that want to come here

""This is an approach to comprehensive immigration reform, in the sense that not only is the responsibility of the U.S. Government to implement reform," he said.

"The region is also willing to create conditions to make migration a choice of life freely assumed and not a necessity dictated by external factors, complemented Garcia."

"Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives filed on 15 December a "historic" initiative for comprehensive immigration reform to allow the legalization of millions of immigrants, but for now, no Republican support."

This is getting more morbid by the minute

Still not a word on msm or Fox news

Unless I missed it

Where did you hear this about Central America?

Just one country or all?

Who is "he said"?

Who is Garcia and what or who does he represent?

Países centroamericanos presentarán a EE.UU. propuesta de reforma migratoria

Submitted to the U.S. Central American Countries immigration reform proposal

18 de Diciembre de 2009
December 18, 2009

San Salvador.

The Central American countries presented next year in the U.S. an immigration reform proposal focused on comprehensive care for thousands of immigrants from the region, Salvadoran Foreign Ministry announced today.

"For the first time Central has its own immigration reform instrument, which responds to the needs and aspirations of Central Americans living illegally in the U.S.," said Vice Minister for Salvadorans abroad, Juan Jose Garcia.

The initiative, led by El Salvador, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic with the support of Central American Integration System (SICA), is in "consultations" with Nicaragua and Costa Rica and seeks to add the support of Panama, Belize and even Mexico, which, Garcia said, showed "strong opening" over reform.

"From now on, Central America will sit at the table of dialogue and negotiation with a tool that allows you to have an impact," the deputy minister in a meeting with the press, saying that they have the support of organizations and unions U.S.

Garcia said that "the commitment of the region is the defense and promotion of human rights of immigrants."

The proposal provides for a fine to immigrants who stay illegally in U.S. and to enable a fund to finance the immigration reform process, in addition to being granted "facilities" to reunite families and beneficiaries to protect their rights.

Not confirmed the date on which the initiative will be presented, then, according to Salvadoran Foreign Minister Hugo Martinez, are "calibrating" the "best time" and the "level" to make it known next year, but did not rule out made during a visit by President Mauricio Funes who is "pending.

Nor was informed this proposal would benefit many Central Americans, but Garcia said that in the case of Salvadorans would cover between 750,000 and 1,100,000 U.S. National

"This is an approach to comprehensive immigration reform, in the sense that not only is the responsibility of the U.S. Government to implement reform," he said.
"The region is also willing to create conditions to make migration a choice of life freely assumed and not a necessity dictated by external factors, commented Garcia.

SICA Secretary General, Juan Daniel German, highlighted this effort as a "step in the right direction."

"It's an innovative step, brave, very sensible and very responsible," he said, as Guatemala's ambassador in El Salvador, Silvia Caceres, stressed that "Central America is united" to get their citizens with a legal immigration status.

Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives filed on 15 December a "historic" initiative for comprehensive immigration reform to allow the legalization of millions of immigrants, but for now, no Republican support.

According to Foreign Minister of El Salvador, there are "plentiful coincidences" between both initiatives."We agree with the proposed strategic lines of Congressman us very glad because we're in the right line," he said, for his part, Garcia.

Yes, while we go Christmas shopping and decorate the tree, those south of us are dictating/demanding to our government what we 'must' do in regards to our own country's immigration policy. Yes, they invade, flood us with their countrymen and then tell us what they expect us to do. What are their plans if we don't comply?

What are our plans if our elected officials (elected to represent us) continue to allow foreigners to meddle with our internal affairs?

That's a good question. We have to develop a strategy for this, but without a big bargaining chip in our hand they have no reason to listen to us or act on our wishes. Normally it's money and/or power that gets their ear, but over the course of centuries there has been other factors that directed them also. Religion for example.

We don't have money, nor any real power.

The bargaining chip would have to be created by finding a way to pry them away from the trough.

How can the current national discontent be harnessed to whack the politicians between the eyes and get them to listen and do for once?

the problem is and will get worse , their voting power

As more and more anchors get to voting age you can be sure they will vote race over anything else

Just like the blacks with obama

Lots of them were stone cold ignorant of any issues , they just perceived that a black man in office was going to give them more free stuff.

The same with latinos , as their power grows they will want more power

Its going to be a Kosovo all over again here in a few years , they want more favors and more perks

Its a perfect storm in so many ways

Do you assume that the status quo in as far as the US economy will continue to sustain the entitlement/welfare system? I don't see that happening, because the money has to come from somewhere. Eventually it will come down to every man for himself. I've already seen some signs of it. When the cupboard is bare, attitudes start to change and reality sets in.
