The janitor who spoke with MPR says he's found another job. He calls himself one of the lucky ones. He's got a driver's license, and a connection that led to another job cleaning houses for a smaller company. It's part time, pays less money, and gets no breaks. And he's still paying taxes.

Whose taxes is he paying and under what social security number?????Probably under one of his anchor babies names or numbers or a fake one

If the Feds would just go after the employers that give jobs to the illegal aliens, then the demand would dry up, and the illegals and their spawn would return to their various countries of origins.

How many of those 1200, fired but not deported, have not moved on to other jobs but have availed themselves of welfare instead?

A few months ago, when my region was entering 13% unemployment, I called my far left, whack job senators and informed them that I knew a lot of people who were out of work and needed a job.

There were noises of sympathy, which quickly abated when I suggested that illegals be taken out of competition for jobs by being deported, then icy silence when I added that E-verify should be used to determine eligibility for any form of public assistance, including food stamps and unemployment compensation.

The Obama administration has shifted away from the dramatic workplace raids that were a hallmark of the Bush administration's enforcement strategy.

I remember some statistics that showed something like four companies being warned or served papers in one year under the Bush administration. I not sure if anything ever came of it.

Here it is;

Notices of intent to fine employers:

1997: 865
1999: 417
2000: 178
2001: 100
2003: 162
2004: 3
