Default Laws For Illegals; New Laws At A Glance - AB35

Quote:
• AB 35 by Assemblymember Roger Hernández (D-West Covina) – Provides that immigration consultants, attorneys, notaries public, and organizations accredited by the United States Board of Immigration Appeals are the only individuals authorized to charge a fee for providing services associated with filing an application under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's deferred action program.
This one does nothing to hurt us really. In the past, some companies/persons were holding themselves out as immigration consultants. Many of them were not lawyers or enrolled agents of any kind. so illegals were giving them money and not getting anywhere in their cases. Eliminating them as middlemen would have no effect on the amount of illegals here. Immigration is a complicated field, so now the illegals will have to pay more money for real professional help, with still little guarantee of success. This law just gets quasi-immigration aides out of the way. Now the illegals can be told "no" by a real professional, and lose hope all that much faster.
