It's kind of infuriating to see teachers advocate this, but hardly surprising. I've known several Europeans who studied in the US who said their were more communists in US schools than in the old Communist block countries.

If they shut down roads and really get nasty, it will be a public relations defeat. Moreover, and most important, no amount of thuggery and vandalism will create more money. The problem is we're out of money. The state is already controlled by Democrats. What more can they do? Kill us I guess...like in Cuba, USSR, etc.

This will just piss people off.

“Our teachers are absolutely fed up with what’s happening right now,” said Sanchez.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm fed up with "teachers" and the fact they do just about everything BUT educate.

* Target the businesses of legislators in their home districts.
* Circle the offices of “problem legislators.” Target them with various actions.
* Picket/rally in front of legislators’ offices/homes.
* Follow targeted legislators for the entire day.

That's a real way to bring someone over to "your" side.

* Have students and parents do informational picketing for one hour outside their school site.
* Have parents and students camp in front of schools all night.

Politicize the kids even more.

* Refrain from Shopping Day. Show the value of educators and other public employees and the economic contribution they make to local communities by refraining from shopping one day.

A loose group with much more political clout (you know who) tried this one a number of times, doesn't work.

* Throw monopoly money in the toilet to show that all our money is going down the drain

"Educators" must be too close to the problem to see that it's themselves that are a large contributor to flushing our tax dollars.

* Publish a list of companies that are not paying their fair share of taxes. Send letters to these companies and the media and picket their offices. Withdraw funds from banks that are not paying their fair share. (Editor’s note: CTA is a tax-exempt organization.)

They're just going to have to start burying their money in the back yard. Oh, and pay tax themselves.

* Attempt to close a major artery into town/cities

This will be a major piss off. And all indications are that as a whole, California teachers will be stupid enough to try it.

Anyone remember this?

Maybe they'll have a "bail your teacher out of jail" day.

* Have celebrities involved in the demonstrations

Who really gives a crap about what celebrities have to say? They're squirrelier than teachers.

* “Lights Out Day” during the week where educators teach in the dark

The way teachers have "educated" the kids with the lights on, it won't make a bit of difference.

“Work with organization like Ben & Jerry to have them create a labor-union flavored ice cream that can be sold at the rallies and in stores,”

It will probably end up on the "free lunch" program in the cafeteria.

That's because the east bloc countries actually experienced totalitarianism under the label of communism, having not experienced it American "educational intellectuals" believe it the way to go.

Most teachers live in a parallel dimension of social theory, they have little idea of what the real world is about.

I will uphold my duty under title ten section 311 USC and make sure no communist robs my fellow americans of their right to travel / freedom of movement ... I'd also suggest suing them for violation of civil rights if they do so to you.
