Very good point.

As an American it's legal for any peace officer to detain me until my identity is acertained. One time on a traffic stop I waited an unusual amount of time to be identified and asked what the holdup was. I was told that no warrants were found for me domestically and it would take awhile to hear back from Interpol. Having never been out of the country I just told them, ok, knock yourselves out. I did not get any citation or anything they had to let me go.

But if that can be done to me legally already, why is it against humanity to do the same thing for someone not in this country illegally?

The only reason I can come up with is that this is about who has the right to control our borders, citizens or illegals. If your going to tell me that's it's against the civil rights of illegals to protect our borders, yes, I absolutely agree there is a problem with that. Just not the same argument.

If there's a conflict between civil rights and protecting the borders the problem is with civil rights - not protecting our borders. I can't think of any other country on the planet that would believe otherwise.
