'Cause this immigration thing has been global pretty much, and they're not exactly chopping off the heads of the traffickers. seems pretty benign as far as cracking down goes...especially for that country

I don't know ... Israel is such a tiny country. I think jail time in Israel goes a much longer way per year than it does anywhere else. And also they got all those walls and check points.

Their real problem is not illegals so much as it is legal immigrants. One way to look at it is that the entire so-called Palestinian nationalist movement is made up of recent immigrants. And also Israel is always trying to encourage and make available immigration for Jews who want to return there. Making Aliyah is what they call it. So immigration is a complicated issue there, especially since it is such a tiny country and squeezed in from all sides too.
