Yes indeed those are the words of the Lakota native American Indians in South Dakota and the invitation from the St. Josephs Indian School in Chamberlain to join the extended family !!!
Now, take the false propaganda spouted by the Mexican reconquista invaders claiming title to the mythological Aztlan located mythological in California, Nevada, Arizona. Texas, and parts of Utah and Colorado. Claiming it as the land of ancestors !!! And aspiring to re-take it. The Aztecs and Uto-Aztecan people spoke native Nahuatl up to the Spanish arrival in 1519 and were Mesoamerican Indians. The Mesoamerican Indians were located around present day Mexico City. The native American indigenous Indian tribes of the US South West are well know, well documented and well recognized. And they were not Mesoamerican natives. In one video posted many times over the past decade one lunatic college professor is seen saying that the Aztlan claim dates back 40,000 years. The Asians didn't cross the Bering land bridge until the approximate period 12,000 years ago at the time of the ice age !!! As usual the Mexican reconquistas are a rather disreputable gang of con artists and grifters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nahuatl Last edited by wetibbe; 03-14-2010 at 06:54 AM. |

Iroquois Creation Myth, 1816
Many Indian peoples had and still have stories of creation that explain how they came to be and to live in their homelands. These narratives offer a glimpse into the belief systems present before Europeans entered North America. Many northeastern Indian peoples share a legend of how the world was created on the back of a giant sea turtle (some still refer to North America as a “turtle island”). While there are many versions of the tradition, the following selection is from the Iroquois Indians of New York State. Anthropologists collected and transcribed most versions of the Iroquois creation myth in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. However, John Norton, son of Scottish and Cherokee parents and adopted by the Mohawks, recorded this version, one of the earliest, in 1816. Norton traveled widely in the eastern woodlands, playing an important role in the life of the Mohawks in the early-nineteenth century. http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/6375/

The Uto Aztecan Languages from what is now the Western United States to What is now southern Mexico. To confuse Nahuatl as the Uto Aztecan language is like saying that English is the Indo European Language, which is wrong. Something to be painfully reminded of the next time you need some sado masochistic customer dis - service and are connected with an incomprehensible "Steve" who is speaking from India. As well, I'm reminded of the goofy claim that since there is a place name in the southwest US of "Aztec", it is proof that Aztlan was in the Southwest United States, or the even goofier notion that since "Michigan" sounds like "Michoacan", the Aztec Empire extended into Canada.
