HARDIN, Texas - An FBI spokeswoman has confirmed the agency is assisting Liberty County Sheriff's Office investigators after a report of mass graves found north of Daisetta. Investigators have closed the intersection of County Road 2048 and County Road 2049 in Hardin, according to a news report from The Cleveland Advocate. Sheriff's deputies are investigating the intersection and a home on CR 2048 acting on information they were alerted to Tuesday afternoon. A spokesman for the Liberty County Sheriff's Office told The Cleveland Advocate that deputies were trying to obtain a warrant to search the home. A cadaver dog is assisting in the search effort for as many as 30 bodies, according to The Cleveland Advocate. Authorities reportedly said as many as 30 bodies were found at the intersection of two county roads in the southeastern part of the state, KPRC-TV reported. Sheriff deputies are at a home in Hardin, where they were told about the bodies from a tipster, KHOU.com reported.
