GRAND RAPIDS -- A judge this morning set bond at $100,000 for a Wyoming man accused of possessing 335 pounds of marijuana and five pounds of cocaine.

Francisco Javier Rivera-Hidalgo was arrested Jan. 28 when Wyoming police and Metropolitan Enforcement Team searched his home at 1125 Rathbone St. SW, north of Chicago Drive, and another home.

Police also confiscated $30,000, along with a Mossberg 20-gauge shotgun and a Taurus 9mm handgun, investigators said.

Cory Howe, a special agent for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, testified that the federal government would detain the suspect, believed to be in the country illegally, if he posts bond.

He is a Mexican citizen who has been "voluntarily returned" to that country 14times between 1999 and 2001, authorities said. Police said the suspect's wife and children were in the home during the raid.

Rivera-Hidalgo was before U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph Scoville. If a grand jury indicts him, he will face a March 19 arraignment in U.S. District Court.

Police said the drugs seized were valued at $500,000.
