I skimmed through IQ And The Wealth Of Nations pdf http://www.rlynn.co.uk/uploads/pdfs/...%20Nations.pdf mentioned in the above post and believe it to be bullshit.

I read the book The Wealth and Poverty Of Nations, it's nothing like this.

As my best recollection:

First it goes into national resources. If there are no natural resources to exploit beside nomadic hunting and gathering or slash and burn farming, that's the type of economy and cultural mentality there will be. Wealth was derived from exploration and trade as well as innovation and invention. Lending of money or resources for a return was and is a large part of of the creation of national wealth. As well, wherever slave labor was employed in the past, there is poverty today. It's a very informative book.

The National IQ seems to be a loaded "study". I personally believe that we in all the nations and races in those nations have the same range of personal IQs, it's the local culture and opportunities that make the difference.

That is to say, if a culture, for what ever reason, demands stupidity, then smart people will act stupid.

Picking on Mexico, that nation has had 500 years of bullshit from the very worst of both European and Indian empire cobbled together as a governmental style just to make it work in the beginning. As a result, the past is the present, and the future will never be.

We have seen the 100 year cycle of societal disintegration with widespread and senseless bloodletting in Mexico - the 1810 war of Independence, the 1910 Mexican Revolution, and now the current yet traditional break down of government, warring caciques and caudillos with resultant, senseless slaughter.

To cope with 500 years of personal uncertainty and governmental betrayal requires a certain amount of cultural fatalism among the masses. Therefore, the tsunami of illegal migration we have experienced from Mexico generally brings us people who have a third grade education or less and no plans for the future beyond a party on the week end. And, being uneducated themselves, the education of their children will not be important to most. After all, they "made it" themselves, didn't they?

Then they are bombarded with "victimization" propaganda and active solicitation for social services - something never experienced in Mexico.

They aren't stupid people. They have just brought their cultural way of coping and national inferiority complex with them and apply it here. It's what they know.

Turning to us, the mass cradle to grave marketing bombardment in the United States over the last 60 years as well as some of the unfortunate results of the 60's partial repudiation of the past is making our culture a stupid one as well.
