Has anyone been paying attention to Lewiston Maine? Those poor poor people. While the MSM portrays Lewiston as revitalized with somalie immigration, new stores (for immigrants) new mosques (they are muslims) new housing (state provided) what is really going on there.

Lewiston, Maine Police Investigate Somali Gang Attacks - '...Witnesses and investigators say swarms of Somali boys, some as young as 8, others in their late teens, overwhelm solitary victims through sheer numbers. "It's not gang activity in the traditional sense," Deputy Chief James Minkowsky said. "We're not seeing the colors or the monikers, but it's still a gang mentality." Often, these gang members carry sticks and rocks with which to intimidate their victims. There are often four or five of them, sometimes as many as a dozen. LEWISTON — In the early evening on the first day of summer, a large group of Somali boys approached a woman on the corner of Ash and Pierce streets. According to police reports, they intimidated the woman and slapped her in the back of the head before scattering into the downtown.

Five days later, shortly after midnight, a man was accosted by a group of Somali boys outside the Big Apple on Main Street. Police reports say several members of the group punched the man and took money from him. They then fled in a car.

Later that night, a woman in her late 60s was beaten by a group of Somali boys and relieved of cash while walking in Kennedy Park.

Five nights later, another man was jumped by a group of similar description. He resisted the gang and was beaten badly. He required surgery.

Throughout the summer, similar reports have come into the Police Department. Witnesses and investigators say swarms of Somali boys, some as young as 8, others in their late teens, overwhelm solitary victims through sheer numbers.

Over the last several years, the public schools have struggled with issues of
how to accommodate the Somalis' religious beliefs and practices, including
women's use of the veil, dietary requirements, daily prayers, fasting during
Ramadan, and girls' participation in P.E. The public school system has been
very solicitous of the Somali community and their religious practices, working
with a cultural broker to achieve solutions satisfactory to both the more
conservative Somalis and the public schools. They adopted a dress code
allowing the use of headwear for religious purposes, allow Muslim girls to put
on sweatpants under their hijab for P.E., allow students to opt out of PE
during Ramadan, and have allowed for special gym classes to avoid physical
contact between boys and girls. They also allow Muslim students to leave for Friday prayer, although they discourage this. They have not gone so far as to create a special prayer room for Muslim students at the school, although in the City of Portland, 30 minutes away, the high school has created a special prayer room.

Khat. Fresh leaves of khat (Catha edulis), a flowering shrub native to northeast Africa and the Arabian peninsula, contain cathinone--a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act. The leaves typically begin to deteriorate after 48 hours, causing the chemical composition of the plant to break down. Once this occurs, the leaves contain cathine, a Schedule IV drug. In many Middle Eastern and African countries, khat is not a controlled substance and is sold openly at markets. Many immigrants from these countries continue to use khat in the United States. Several cities in Maine, including Augusta, Lewiston, and Portland, are home to small communities of Somali refugees, and more refugees are relocating to the state. The demand for khat in Maine is increasing in correlation with the increase in Somali refugees. Khat available in the state typically is first transported to New York City from Great Britain via couriers on commercial aircraft and then into Maine via package delivery services. On March 22, 2002, law enforcement officials seized 51 pounds of khat from a Portland airfreight office and arrested the individual who attempted to claim the package.

The people of Lewiston deserve our prayers. Unfortunately when someone DOES complain, they are immediately called white nationalists and find themselves in more trouble than the ones who attacked them.
