If you want to see how far our civilization has slid into the toilet, go read the Lincoln-Douglas Debates of 1858. When you are reading this uplifting wonderful prose, remind yourself that these extraordinary men were addressing crowds of common Illinois farmers and working people (most of whom were home schooled), spoke in the words and in the manner of their own choosing without ghost writers, and remind yourself what Abraham Lincoln was himself self educated and HOMESCHOOLED!
