Default Immigration Makes its Mark on Nebraska

Immigration Makes its Mark on Nebraska
Omaha, NE - Illegal immigration, the hot topic returns to Nebraska with word one state senator wants Nebraska to look into Arizona's new law.
As Fremont gets ready to vote on a measure to ban illegal workers and renters from the town, state senator Charlie Janssen throws in a proposal to add a state law just like Arizona's. Arizona's law requires police to check a person's immigration status if they stop them for something else.
Today, both sides sound off in Fremont. "I think if you're stopped for probable cause no matter what that probable cause is, I think you should be asked for your ID," says a proponent of the law. An opponent weighs in saying, "It's just what happened in Arizona, you know who are they going to target, they're not going to question somebody who's blonde and blue eyes."
A link to Janssen's proposal is posted above this news story.
