My kid went to what they called "Gate" school, which was for above average type scholars, but the "gate" school was right in the heart of barrio. The school itself was one of the worst performing in the area, so they just moved some smarter kids in to bring up the scores. The whole school wasn't for "gate" kids; Just certain classrooms. See how it works?
