Law Enforcement Officials to Describe Impact of Broken System on Efficiency, Public Safety, and Community Trust

Polk County, IA – As Congress prepares to take up immigration reform in early 2010, leading police executives from states as diverse as California, Iowa, and Texas will join a telephonic press conference on Thursday, October 22nd, as part of a growing chorus of law enforcement leaders calling for comprehensive immigration reform.

Sacramento Police Chief Rick Braziel; Dr. Theron Bowman, Chief of Police in Arlington, Texas; and Sheriff Bill McCarthy of Polk County, Iowa will discuss the damage to public trust and community safety that result from the broken immigration system.
