Illegal immigrants are not supposed to be getting any kind of aid. The only aid that they qualify for is the aid their kids get. You can apply for food aid in the name of your children and you don't have to report your immigration status.
If legal immigrants no longer can get any aid, then that is progress. That's good news. Nobody who is not a citizen or who is not the child of two citizens should be getting any kind of government aid.
