We are STILL accepting refugees from Hurricane Mitch. It's never stopped. People are still coming here illegally and claiming that they arrived prior to 1998 and want TPS.
How can we, as a compassionate people, look at those who have suffered from a natural catastrophe and not be moved enough to adopt entire nations? How can we? We better START! There are tsunamis, earthquakes, storms, all the time. Right now the impetus is to murder off as many of our own children as is possible so that we can be a virtually childless nation and take in those of other countries.
It's times like this when Iran gets at least a modicum of respect for saying "We take care of our own" when they had their massive earthquake.

Yes, there are tsunamis, earthquakes, storms all the time, somewhere. And typically, these natural phenomena are restricted to certain areas. And most people who are native to the area avoid those areas. Nobody with any sense would want to populate an area that is periodically ravaged by some naturally occuring event. But population pressures are sending people to those very areas. The people who wind up populating these areas are too dull and unexperienced to know any better and nobody is interested in taking the time to explain their errors to them. The problem is global overpopulation and countries with the superior family values of restricting family size are the target of the social policies of the Catholics and Muslims who occupy them and suppress the issue in the UN.
Areas in the US are not immune from this kind of wretched thinking. We have hurricane and tornado vulnerable areas like Kansas. How many times have tornados wiped out real estate developments in these areas, have received federal funding to rebuild, only to see them wiped out again?
