I recently saw an old friend whom I haven't spoken with for many years, and he used to work for the subsidized housing department here in Sac. He was telling me why you see newer escalades, big screen TV's, and nice furniture in the homes of people claiming they are broke and only paying 50.00 a month for a two bedroom townhome. The escalades, TV's etc are leased or rented, and so they become an expense as opposed to their "property". When filling out their applications for subsidized rent, they list all of their expenses.
