OAKDALE, Calif. -- Investigators say a California motorist leaving a rodeo in heavy traffic beat his pregnant passenger with a belt and assaulted a police horse when a mounted officer tried to intervene.
Fans were leaving the Oakdale Rodeo in stop-and-go traffic when the driver began attacking the woman in his car.
Oakdale police say an officer on a horse moved in to block the man's car, which kept inching forward.
The man was arrested. The horse wasn't hurt.
