Some basic observations !
Why did Reagan grant amnesty ?
Why did Clinton grant amnesty ?
Why did Bush evade strong enforcement of immigration laws ?
Why is Obama paying lip service, blowing smoke, pretending to enforce the laws but at the same time not building fence of sending National Guard as requested ?
The common denominators seem to be the vociferous left, churches, panderers, employers, immigration attorneys and the Latinos/Hispanics who are tugging at the sleeve and bleating. It's first the desire to elicit the Hispanic vote, second to appease the segment of public that favors illegal immigrants and whatever is left over "compassionate conservatism" for example as well as the NAU North American Union, Trans Texas Highway, the Amero. And now the current administrations buckling to the magnetic pull of the left wing.
All of those have some vested interest. They see some benefit to them.
* The churches are losing membership and want those to fill pews and collection plates.
* The immigration attorneys want paying suckers.
* Businesses want the cheap labor.
* Landlords want tenants.
* Unions want members.
* Democrats want voters.
* Hispanics want to surge ahead trying to Latinize the country and eventually dominate through population.
* Mexicans want to recapture the mythical pipe dream Aztlan.
