Voter Party Affiliations Changed In Sac County
This one kills me. The Left leaning liberal Sac Bee tries to pin voter fraud on Republicans:

I can't read the whole article at the Bee.
My party affiliation has been changed at least twice by someone other than myself: from Independent to Republican and Independent to Democrat. This has happened to me in both San Bernardino and Riverside counties. |
Once again, the whole problem of the primary election system rears its head.
Who cares if they get your political party wrong? It really makes no difference in the elections that really matter which are for the office itself. This is where we have to be careful. It doesn't matter what your political party of record is, there should be no record at all of your political party. It is none of the government's business what your party affiliations are. The only reason our government can give for keeping those records is for the purposes of primary elections. Another place we see trouble coming from these records is gerrymandering where the "two party system" struggles over district boundaries in order to create majorities of tweedledum over those of tweedledee. We should make it a crime to ask what your political party is for purposes of voter registration. Get rid of the primary elections, let the political parties decide on their own who their nominees for office are. We won't have to worry about people going on government records for belonging to a political party they don't belong to, those records won't exist. |
