State Files Several Hundred Suits Against Unemployment Insurance Cheats
 

Checking the roster for last month in Sacramento superior court, (that's how far they're behind now) The state EDD filed several hundred cases against those accused of getting overpayments on unemployment insurance. Usually the amounts are under 500.00, and the state almost never gets opposition to them. These are basically the equivilent of "robo- signing". The court will be issuing judgements wholesale, and then these same defendants will be levied upon when they get their next job.
There's a daily number of people who apply for relief from these levies in courts all across the state, and the judges almost always deny them.
